Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Liberty Seated Half Dollars 1839-1891 Dansco Album comes in a 1 1/8" binder and holds up to 140 coins. The album has 7 Dansco pages (series: 6152-1 to 6152-7), each one holding and displaying all Liberty Seated half dollars minted from 1793-1857. Small arrows were added to the obverse of the coins twice during this period. From 1853-1855 the arrows indicate the reduction in weight, from 13.36 grams to 12.44 grams. Only half dollars coined in 1853 saw rays around the eagle on the reverse. The arrows appeared again from 1873-1874, this time to indicate the increase in weight, from 12.44 grams to 12.50 grams. This weight remained through 1891. All Liberty Seated half dollars are made of 90% silver and 10% copper, and they measure 30.6 mm in diameter. Half dollars from 1839-1891 were coined at the Philadelphia and New Orleans Mints. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
