Testing Acids for determining silver contents

To successfully complete the steps to determine silver contents, it is necessary to have:
  • Silver testing acids
  • First step: Place a drop of the silver test acid solution on the piece to be tested.
Reading the results: If the acid turns into a light green color, then the tested piece contents 65-75% silver. If the acid turns into a gray color, then the tested object contents 77-90% silver. The acid that turns into a creamy color shows the tested piece has 90-100% silver.
