The Obsolete Paper Money of Virginia, Volume I

This 1968 work was the first of two volumes by this author on Virginia Obsolete Paper Money. Volume I includes Virginia Treasury Notes, County, City and Town emissions, and Private and Business Scrip. Volume II includes the Obsolete Bank Notes (or so-called "Broken Bank Notes."). All known major varieties of notes and scrip are illustrated, in actual size, followed by a listing of the denominations, a brief description, and the degree of rarity shown in parentheses. Error notes are listed but no attempt was made to list separately the minor varieties of type-size and kind. Condition Note: This book was published by the Virginia Numismatic Association (VNA) in 1968. Wizard acquired the unsold copies from the VNA in 2015. So, while these books are "new" they show some signs of long storage and periodic handling as the volunteer VNA caretaker changed over the years.
